Séverine Emery-Jaquier lives and works in Fribourg. Since her studies at the school of Applied Arts in Vevey and High school for Art and Design (HEAD) in Geneva she works principally with the ceramic medium. Her practice is grounded in material transformation responding to interacting forces and shaping processes.
She deals with space, scales, landscape, urban, environnemental and social issues. Displacements, impermanency, uncertainty are embrace as generative. She explores a form of narrative through collage and discreet devices.
She teaches at the School of Applied Arts Bern-Biel by the Ceramic Dpt and is Head expert for ceramic studies at the School of Applied Arts in Vevey/CH.
